So I just got a look at the new Cadillac concept car. There are three things I really like about this beauty. First, it is an American badge. ‘Nuff said.
Second, the lines are flatteringly reminiscent of that new gentlemans uber-car, the Wraith from Rolls Royce. While the Wraith offers a cool sleekness and suicide doors to boot, this Caddy Concept provides a truly American low-rider smooth and, well suicide doors are for Lincolns, aren’t they? Two doors are enough.
Finally, and most importantly, it’s all about the name.
The name Elmiraj is a great throwback to Eldorado, considered one of the most beloved nameplates to late babyboomer city guys like me. If you were cruising in an Eldo’, you were somebody, baby!
But Cruisin’ in my Elmir’ doesn’t quite have the same ring, does it?
Cruising in my ‘Raj. Yeah, that works.
And with 500 horses and twin turbos under the hood, titanium details, and camel leather seats, Cadillac is showing it expects drivers to grab the road in this beast. Scorched Earth Be Damned!
